Tandem Hang Gliding in New York
We offer a wide range of tandem hang gliding flights in New York. Each flight can be very different from one to the other. The way we have standardized the tandem flights is by altitude. We start out at as low as 1500 ft AGL (Above Ground Level) which is about a 10-min flight on average. For those wanting a higher and longer session of hang gliding for two in New York, we have options for 3,000 ft AGL, which on average lasts 15 to 25 minutes. You can even add a HD video or stills. The most popular view is facing back (see pictures) and the other is from either wing tip. All at an additional charge. For a List of limitations for guests taking the flight please see our FAQ's. For more on group rates, extra altitude, HD video's, student rates, and some more general knowledge and things to think about please keep going and see below.
Extra In-Fight Pictures/Videos are also available for purchase after your New York tandem hang gliding flight. It’s $50 for the reg action cam, or you can upgrade to the 360-degree view cam for $100 more. Guests, friends, or family may take pictures or videos of the New York tandem gliding flight from the ground, but we cannot allow any other forms of in-flight videos operated by the guest, either on their body or on our/their equipment. This includes but is not limited to cell phones, goggle cams, Go Pros, Drifts, Verb, or any other kind of action cam or recording device currently known or unknown.
I don’t want a onetime intro discovery tandem. I know I want to learn the art of hang gliding already and I can’t wait to get started. Buy in bulk packs of 5 aero tow tandems and save some money. The bulk pack is intended for students who want to try and or are intending to learn to fly hang gliders solo. This is not for groups rates. We will take these students on as a case by case scenario. Once started the bulk pack will be nontransferable and no refunds will be given. These two-person hang glider lessons in New York will be to a minimum of 3000 ft, where we will have about 15 to 20 minutes of flying time and ground schooling, to a maximum of 4000 ft, where we have about 25 to 35 minutes of flight time and ground schooling. Depending on student pilots’ needs/ wants/ budget. Please call 845-467-8090 for pricing and ask for Bryon. If he is unavailable, please leave a message.
Weather is always going to be a factor and we cannot predict it very well, but generally we will contact you between 24 and 48 hours before the appointment date. If by some chance we have missed you, please contact us by phone. The 48-hour cut-off will determine if your New York tandem hang gliding flight is a go or a no-go, depending on the final call via phone, text, or e-mail. If it’s a go call, we will look forward to seeing you at your appointment time. We understand that life can just happen at times and things like traffic jams, trucks, buses, accidents, and slow drivers, but please try your best to be on time or earlier than your appointed time. You can watch others going on their flights unless of course you're the first flight of the day. Please let us know as soon as possible if things have changed while you are in transit, if you're going to be more than 10 or 15 min late. If it’s a no go call, you will receive a weather check available for use on the next flyable open booking appointment time. Wind velocities can also play a factor flying/ training in wind velocities of 10 mph or more is difficult and thus not good for training in. So, it could be nice and sunny day out, but if the wind is blowing at 15 mph or gusting more than that, we say it's blown out. We have too much wind for flying. Days where the wind is forecasted to be at 10 to 15 mph all day will be assessed on an hourly base.
